About Frank

A Brief Biography

Frank Foster is an inspiring and energetic leader and is ready to use his skills and passion to faithfully represent the 107th district of Michigan. As a lifetime resident, Frank understands the needs of the district are very simple; people need secure jobs, a safe and vibrant community, and protection of the natural resources and environment they love.

As a fourth-generation citizen of Pellston and the greater Emmet County area with roots in both the farming and building industries, he understands the challenges Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula are experiencing in this economic downturn. A third- generation builder, Frank works with his father as the business manager of the family’s Petoskey based construction company.

After graduating Petoskey High School Magna Cum Laude, Frank attended and graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in business and finance. Excelling at GVSU, Frank quickly became involved in student government and served as the student body president for two consecutive terms. Furthermore, Frank was involved in Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity as well as having spent a summer in Washington D.C. working for Congressman Pete Hoekstra and another semester in the office of the Mayor of Grand Rapids.

Frank’s tenure as student body president and internships in various political offices has allowed him the opportunity to experience many of the issues facing the state of Michigan. Testifying in front of various subcommittees in Lansing, Frank advocated for a higher focus on an educated work force and retaining Michigan’s workers where they belong: Michigan.

Frank’s highest priority is Michigan’s future. He is dedicated to creating a job environment through a more effective tax structure, better roads and infrastructure, and a higher focus on tourism. This will give Michigan the tools it needs for renewal and to preserve the natural beauty and water resources Northern Michigan cherishes. He is committed to doing his part to help lead the change in our great state which is instrumental in ensuring a vibrant future for our future generations.

An only child, Frank is the son of Frank and Susan Foster. His family extends throughout Emmet County and Sault Ste. Marie, and has a longstanding presence in the 107th. A returning college graduate, Northern Michigan is Frank’s home, and an ideal place to live, work, and raise a family.
